Ph.D. (TIFR, Mumbai, India)

I did my Ph.D. from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai, India, between 2012 and 2017. TIFR was established by the revered Indian physicist Homi Bhabha in the year 1945 in the pre-independence era. The institute is located on a beautiful campus in Colaba, South Mumbai, with its own shoreline overlooking the Arabian Sea. I worked in the Department of Theoretical Physics at TIFR, which engages in frontline research in all areas of modern theoretical physics, from string theory at the smallest scales to cosmology on the largest. More details about the department can be found here. For my Ph.D. I worked on single field models of cosmological inflation, deriving constraints on the correlation functions of inflationary perturbations in these models based on the underlying reparametrization symmetries. My Ph.D. dissertation can be found here.

Integrated M.Sc. (IIT Kanpur, India)

I did my combined undergraduate and masters degree - a five-year Integrated M.Sc. in Physics, from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India, from 2007 to 2012. The Indian Institutes of Technology are the premier engineering and science research and teaching institutions in India. IIT Kanpur, designated an Institute of National Importance by the Govt. of India, is one of the oldest amongst them, and was established in the year 1959. The institute's academic program was setup with help from nine eminent US institutions, including MIT, Caltech and Princeton. To this day the academic programs are at par with the best institutions in the world. The Department of Physics at IIT Kanpur is one of the largest research oriented physics departments in the country, and boasts many alumni who contributed significantly to the growth of the subject on the international stage. More details about the department can be found here.
